C's Recital

We had an awesome time. She was the best in her class, hands down. She danced to "hairpsray" first. They danced their pirate dance next. It was awesome to see her hard work pay off. She is my buddy.

Check out those eyelashes! She totally has her Dad's eyes.

This is her "pirate" face.

Cheese!
This is her hairspray costume. She did NOT appreciate the wig. However, she looked so dang cute.

A big THANK YOU to everyone that came and supported my little dancer. She was thrilled to see everyone there and couldn't wait to show off her moves.

Annual Trip to M

We had an awesome time. The weather kind of, sort of cooperated. It worked out in our favor, because the rain we did get, kept things cool. I took a lot of pictures, but I'll only post some of my favorites. If you're interested in seeing the rest - email me and I'll send you the album link.

We stopped at a historical fort on our way to M:

Our sweet little old lady tour guide explained "hoops" to us. But, she called it "hups." I had no idea that J was a natural at "hups." He is like the master of the "hups" universe. I had no idea his talents ran so deep. The whole time he ran around, F laughed his head off in the backpack.

After the fort, we made our way down to M and fun times ensued.

Critters:

This is a called a Jerusalem Cricket. It was really really creepy looking.

Launching Rockets - my 3 most favorite people ever.

My stepdad was finishing up his rocket the night before this picture was taken. He was trying to get the lid off the bottle of superglue, but it was glued on. I heroically offered to get the lid off for him and used my teeth to do so. In the process of being totally awesome - i glued my lips together. Seriously. J was yelling at me to keep my mouth open while the glue dried. I did my best but the corner of my mouth was done for. I spent the next 24 hours trying to rub dried super glue off my lips. It still is really irritating. That's the last time I attempt that little trick.

Uncle R brought a "stomp rocket" toy. C and F loved it. Here's a video of F:

Until next year . . . .

Seriously?

June 4, 2009 at approximately 7:25am.  I am making my bed while J is talking with C and F.  He is supposed to be leaving for work.

C: Hey, Dad?  I think you should date another girl.  NOT Mom.
J: What?  Why do you think that?
C: Cause.  You should date someone else besides Mom (she says this as she points her finger at me with a disgusted look on her face, as if i'm some sort of lesser life form)
J: What's wrong with Mom?

F interrupted the proceedings at this point by yelling at the balloon that is always out of his reach.  We never finished the conversation.  Part of me is glad that we didn't finish this little discussion.  I dont think I want to know why C doesn't think her Dad should "date" me.  How does she even know what "date" means?  I am feeling a bit disgruntled that that C wants her Dad to find someone else to "date."  Sheesh.

Preschool, the Park & Pigpen

C had her last day of preschool last week.

My dudes at the park by our house:

F shoveling in the spaghetti as fast as he can.  He makes the biggest mess.
