An Apple a Day - Keeps the New Neighbors Away

We live in a row of 4 townhomes. We're #3. #4 is vacant. J, never one to let a study opportunity pass him by, went to vacant #4 last night to study while I got the kids ready for bed. He finishes up about 9:30pm. He walks out and sees "me" at the far end of the sidewalk, talking on my cell phone. He takes his apple core and chucks it at "me." Cuz, you know - that's normal to throw apple cores at your spouse. At least its normal at my house. Anyway, he hits "me" and "I" turned around. It wasn't me. It was the new neighbor that just moved into #1. She's only lived here for one week. We haven't even officially met her family. And, J just threw an apple at her. He apologized and turned bright red (serves him right) and then ran into our place. He finds me, minding my own business, sitting at the computer. Needless to say, I am fully embarrassed after I hear about his apple assault. We had fresh-baked chocolate chip cookies, so I sent him over there with a plate, to apologize again.

Seriously - I would love to be a fly on our new neighbor's wall to see what they think about us. Well, maybe I'd rather not know . . . . . .

Lady Gaga in the Morning

Its never to early for a little Lady Gaga, right? This morning, at the glorious hour of approximately 7:05am, C started singing. And not your average kid song either. She was belting out Lady Gaga's "paparazzi." Notice her sweet bed head & her ankle socks, paired with her new Easter high-heeled shoes, that she isn't supposed to be wearing until Easter. But dude, you CANNOT sing Lady Gaga without high-heels on. It just doesn't work. Yeah, she doesn't know the words exactly, but its the heart & soul of the song that matters. And she gets it - spot on.

And the World Shines for Me Today!

C turned 5 years old yesterday. We had a family dinner Sunday night and opened presents after. She got a really cool dollhouse with all the furniture pieces, some rockin' rain boots, a cute summer outfit complete with sandals, a new swimming suit, a puzzle and Pete's Dragon on DVD (remember that show?). Swegin & Dub (aka Hannah Montana) came over last night and took her out on a date to get some ice cream. She loved every second of it.

Awesome cake (thank you Grandma Meow!):

Pin the lips on the frog (she totally cheated):

It was a good day and I'm still in shock that I have a 5 year old.
