Sooooooooo sleepy

It seems like every single picture I have of this little dude - he's sleeping. Probably because he spends 98% of his day sleeping. But here he is nonetheless. The straps of his carseat smoosh his cheeks together, making him look even chubbier than he is. He's cute.

Praying Mantis - Phase 1

We got the praying mantis egg case in the mail on Saturday. I'm not too squeamish when it comes to bugs, but the egg case was pretty weird/gross. It felt like a wasps nest - real papery and fragile. I kept dropping it which meant I had to keep picking it up which meant I had to keep feeling it. And J was no help - he refused to touch it at all. Baby.

So, in 3 to 6 weeks I will have baby praying mantis's (manti?). I'm supposed to let all but 2 of them free outside as they will eat each other. For the remaining two, we're supposed to catch appropriately sized insects for them to eat. This is going to be interesting.

Its raining, its pouring & the newborn is snoring

Well, looks like this child takes after his Mother in one area:

Yes, I realize the picture is black, but it was dark and I needed to make sure the camera was close enough to fully capture the snoring. Turn your volume up and enjoy.

Necessity is the Mother of all Invention

C has to have 2 things on/in her bed with her every night before she'll go to sleep: (1) books; and (2) a sippy cup of water. She's been this way since she was 15 months old. Fast forward to a few months ago - C got a "bed tent" for Christmas. She LOVES it. Its been on her bed since the day after Christmas.

However, the bed tent material is super slippery which makes keeping her books and her sippy cup in her bed, right next to her, almost impossible. Last night when J went to check on her he found this - the most awesome contraption ever.

What we have here is a regular everyday blue hanger, paired with a pink "D" ring belt, ingeniously looped into the sippy cup and effectively lassoed around the hanger. The contraption is then held up by strategically placing the hook of the hanger in the ultra-convenient pocket of the bed tent. And, as a bonus - the weight of the sippy cup is holding her book in place.

You just wait - in 15 years you'll be flipping through channels on a Sunday morning and WHAM! you'll see C, selling her own creation and starring in her very own infomercial. She's totally going to make us rich.

He's here!

M finally decided to show up (at 38 weeks, 1 day) on February 24th at 7:25pm. He weighed in at 7 lbs. 13 oz and was 19.5 inches long. He is the smallest baby for me so far. Actually, his birth weight was the exact same as F's - but he's 2 inches shorter. He looks just like C.

He's a great baby so far BUT he is the LOUDEST sleeper. He grunts/snorts/whines all night long.

C & F can't get enough of him. Neither can J and I.
