Preschool Graduation

C and her famous poses:

I get this look from her all the time. Its a little bit "are you serious?" and a little bit "I'm giving you a courtesy smile, but you're bugging me" and a bit of "I'm cute and I know it."

Getting her official preschool diploma:

Her teacher brought out each kid one by one and said something unique about that child. When it was C's turn to go out, Ms. A said C was the smartest student she has ever had in her 8 years of teaching preschool. She called C the "brain" of the class and said that C never hesitated to point out if somebody said the wrong answer. That is so her. Love it.

Blindfolds

I was dusting the upstairs while C & F were running around playing. It was suspiciously quiet for about 3 minutes. When I started to become a bit concerned, C came running out of my bedroom and said, "Mom! I didn't know you had a whole bunch of blindfolds! Why didn't you tell me?"

Blindfolds you ask? Here you go:

So yes. I told C that they are in fact blindfolds, and I just had forgotten about them. She thought it was way cool that they stuck right to your skin, without having to worry about tying anything.

Mother's Day 2010

It was a good day. J & the kids made me breakfast, lunch at Mimi's house, and dinner at Grandma Meow's house. We got to see all of J's siblings and their kids, and all of my siblings. Couldn't have asked for a better day.

I've got it, and I'm flaunting it

Oh yeah baby. My birthday came early this year.

I am totally stoked. I just can't decide what to read first.

3rd Annual Cinco de Mayo Celebration

It was another good year. Super good food. Super rad people. I was in charge of the horchata once again - and it turned out really good. Of course I can't make horchata without some type of incident and this year was no exception. While breaking up the rice in my food processor, I got this really good idea to add a cinnamon stick. BAD IDEA. The cinnamon stick got stuck on one of the blades and the food processor started skipping on the counter, spitting out rice water. I couldn't turn the dang thing off because it was moving too fast. I finally ripped the plug out. Suffice it to say, I had rice water & little bits of rice all over.

The only picture I took -

Thanks to Mimi & Grandma Meow for furnishing our clothes. The "toga" C is wearing and my hair band is from Mimi's Palenque trip in January. My shirt is straight from Grandma Meow's closet. I think F was sad that he wasn't dressed up. But don't worry - we gave him an eyeliner mustache. He looked rad.
