J thinks that you are supposed to pronounce the "L" in yolk - as in egg yolk. He ordered breakfast the other day and asked if the yoo-LKS were cooked in an egg over-medium.
I believe the "L" is silent - which correctly follows the "silent L rules."

Technically it can be both. If you look it up in the dictionary it shows both ways as possible ways to say it. However I say it with a silent L 'cause it just sounds funny when you pronounce the L
